Password Storage is a fairly simple, yet efficient application that targets users in need of an intuitive password manager that can store and organize credentials for online accounts.
The program eliminates the need to memorize passwords or to place them inside unsafe text files by providing a secure storage place that is password protected. In other words, no one, besides you, can access the database.
It is aimed at all user categories, on account of its simplicity and accessibility. During the first launch, you will be asked to create a new database that can be encrypted using a password chosen by the user.
The next step is to get acquainted with the user interface, which is simple and intuitive. The GUI is home to a couple of tabs that allow you to populate and properly organize your password collection, as well as the database.
Moreover, the application is able to handle multiple databases and this benefits multi-user systems directly. You and all the members of your family can rely on this program to hold your precious information without interfering with one another.
First and foremost, it is recommended that you create password categories in order to ready the storage of each credential, following which you can start adding new records to the database. The dialog afferent to a new password requires to specify a title, the username and password, as well as the URL of the website to which the password corresponds.
There’s also a password generator that can produce passphrases of up to 99 characters (although that is a bit much), consisting of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and special symbols.
Despite lacking autocomplete features, the program does allow you to copy a username or password to the clipboard, so that you can manually paste them into login fields. This might be considered as a disadvantage by some users.
In conclusion, Password Storage comes across as a reliable application, one that can gather all of your credentials into a single place while keeping prying eyes away.
