Description

Ping Terminal

Ping Terminal is a super useful networking tool that helps you send the ping command to a host on your LAN. This is great for testing how strong the connection is between two machines. Perfect for when you're getting ready for a video game LAN party!

Key Features of Ping Terminal

This handy program doesn’t just stop at pinging. It also supports traceroute and shows you a history graph along with statistics to keep track of everything.

Easy Setup and Use

The best part? It comes packed in a single .exe file, so you can save it anywhere on your disk or even on a USB drive. This means you can easily launch Ping Terminal on any computer without needing to install anything first! It won't clutter up your Windows registry, need any extra DLLs, or create files without asking you first.

User-Friendly Interface

The interface is straightforward, featuring a large window where you can simply type in the host name or IP address you want to ping. You can also tell it to resolve the address into a hostname and run traceroute from there.

Customizable Settings

You have options! Before starting the scan, you can set the time to live (TTL), packet length, ping interval, and even adjust the diagram scale. The tool will continuously ping the specified host until you decide to stop it. Afterward, you'll see details like sent and received packets along with minimum and maximum round-trip times (RTT).

Saving History and Customizing Options

If you want to keep track of your tests, it's easy to clear history or save ping or trace history as a TXT file. You can select different types of service (TOS) like high throughput or low delay, prevent fragmentation, and customize trace settings based on hop count or timeout options.

Aesthetic Customization

You can even tweak how everything looks! Change up fonts and colors for both the background and foreground diagrams, as well as for text in both ping and trace windows.

Final Thoughts on Ping Terminal

In summary, Ping Terminal is an awesome network utility that makes pinging and tracing local hosts super simple while offering advanced settings for those who want them. We found it had low CPU and RAM usage during our tests—though it hasn't received updates in quite some time.
