pktstat is a handy tool that shows you a real-time list of active connections on your network interface. It also tells you how much bandwidth each connection is using. One cool feature is that it partially decodes HTTP and FTP protocols, so you can see what files are being transferred. Plus, if you're curious about X11 applications, it shows those names too!
The entries stay on the screen for a few seconds, which gives you enough time to catch what's happening on your network right now. If you're someone who likes to filter things, you can even use filter expressions like in tcpdump.
I personally find this tool super useful when I want to check what’s clogging up my modem. It's like having a peek behind the curtain of your internet traffic!

This latest release comes with some exciting updates! The packet and octet counter ranges have been boosted from 32-bit to 64-bit, which means more data can be handled without issues. They’ve also improved how the window resize events work, fixed an annoying buffer overflow bug, and added a single-shot batch output mode.
