What is pktstat FOR LINUX?

pktstat

pktstat is a handy tool that shows you a real-time list of active connections on your network interface. It also tells you how much bandwidth each connection is using. One cool feature is that it partially decodes HTTP and FTP protocols, so you can see what files are being transferred. Plus, if you're curious about X11 applications, it shows those names too!

See Active Connections in Real-Time

The entries stay on the screen for a few seconds, which gives you enough time to catch what's happening on your network right now. If you're someone who likes to filter things, you can even use filter expressions like in tcpdump.

Why I Use pktstat

I personally find this tool super useful when I want to check what’s clogging up my modem. It's like having a peek behind the curtain of your internet traffic!
