What is Portable Camino FOR MAC?

Portable Camino

Portable Camino is a handy version of the Camino web browser that you can easily carry with you on any portable device. Whether it’s a USB thumb drive, iPod, portable hard drive, or even a memory card, as long as you have about 45 MB (or 60 MB for MultiLang) of free space, you're good to go! You can use it on any Mac OS X computer and take your bookmarks, cookies, extensions, history, and saved passwords wherever you need them.

How to Get Started with Portable Camino

Getting started is super easy! Just follow these steps:

1. Drag the "Portable Camino" folder to your portable device. Remember, it needs that 45 MB (60 MB for MultiLang) of free space.


2. To open Camino from your portable device, just click on "Portable Camino." It might take a moment for it to start up.


3. If you have another copy of Camino running locally, an alert will pop up to let you know so you can quit it.

Copying Your Preferences

You can also bring along your user preferences when prompted by the "Copy preferences" window. If you'd like to use the settings already on your system, just hit "Copy" when asked.

Your Files in Portable Camino

Your application files and preference settings are all packed inside: Portable Camino.app/Contents/Resources/app/. This way everything is neatly organized!

Known Issues

A quick note: Portable Camino isn’t fully compatible with some features of CamiTool and other extensions made for Camino. So keep that in mind!
