Postaci, which means Postman in Turkish, is a super handy webmail software that's built on PHP. It's designed to work on multiple platforms and doesn't tie you down to any specific database. It supports IMAP and POP3, and guess what? It speaks 32 different languages! Plus, it's fully MIME compatible, making it easy for you to manage your emails.
When using the POP3 mode, Postaci cleverly uses database fields to mimic IMAP folders. This way, you can save, move, delete, and read your emails just like you would with IMAP. Setting it up is a breeze, and it's packed with security features that keep your information safe. With over a hundred thousand downloads worldwide, it's clear that many people trust this software!
The best part? Postaci comes bundled with some great tools like a simple address book, a notebook for your notes, and even a bookmark manager application! All of these features make managing your communication and information super easy.
Postaci also has multidomain (or virtual) support. This means all your domains are neatly stored in a database table. Users have to be linked to a domain which can be managed through the tblDomains and tblUsers tables in the database. If you're running just one domain on your server, you won't have to worry about this much! Just make sure there's at least one domain in the database; its index should be set to 1 as the default domain for users.
You can easily change your default domain by editing the tblDomain.sql file located in the queries folder of your installation.
