Services are an important part of the system as they ensure support for different operations required by the operating system. They can be part of applications that start with Windows or of the operating system itself.

In some cases, monitoring them can make the difference between a properly working computer and a machine that cannot complete the required task.

Remote Service Monitoring is a simple application which, as the name suggests, allows you to monitor the services on a machine in the network from a remote location.

Installation is straightforward as the instructions in the wizard are clear. The entire process does not take long to complete and the application can be launched immediately afterwards.

Looks are simple and to the point, with no other configuration options than those necessary for connecting to the remote station.

You need to provide the address of the target system as well as the login credentials (user name and password) if necessary.

In our case it did not take long for the program to show the list of services available on the remote system. The details present for each entry included the name of the service as well as the display name and current status.

Since the developer aimed at utter simplicity with this tool there aren’t other control options at the ready except for starting or stopping the activity of the currently selected entry.

Before actually stopping a service, the application makes sure that the option has not been selected by accident and prompts for confirmation of the action.

Remote Service Monitoring is straightforward and intuitive. It does not require any documentation for learning the ropes and addresses a more experienced category of users.
