Resistor Value Calculator is a lightweight Windows application developed with a single goal in mind: to help you calculate the value of a four band resistor based on user-defined colors.
The bands embedded on a transistor show information about the resistance value and each color signifies a number. The value is displayed in ohms.
This is a portable program, so it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to find out the value of a four band resistor on the fly, without having to go through installation steps.
Since this is a Java-based utility, you should make sure you have previously installed the working environment on the computer, otherwise you cannot run the tool.
The tool gives you the possibility to calculate the value for a four band resistor by selecting from preset colors. As soon as you select a color, the app automatically displays its value in the primary panel.
Since it doesn’t require much computer knowledge to set up the dedicated parameters, even rookies can master the entire process with minimum effort. On the downside, you cannot copy the values to the clipboard for pasting them into other third-party programs.
During our testing we have noticed that Resistor Value Calculator carries out a task very quickly, provides accurate results, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. It leaves a minimal footprint on system resources, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.
Resistor Value Calculator offers a simple yet efficient software solution for helping you calculate the value of a four band resistor.
