Safe Pad

When technology wasn't as advanced as now, we used to write personal information or personal and business-related details in a physical notebook, which at some point in time was full and needed to be changed for a new one. With time those activities have been replaced with many types of programs, such as Safe Pad, each providing unique functions to best suit the taste of users.

Safe Pad is one of those tools that comes in handy when you want to write and easily store cherished memories and valuable details like passwords, phone numbers, addresses or webpage authentication credentials. It manages to protect your data from prying eyes with the help of the AES256 encryption system.

The application is wrapped in a simple and clean interface featuring a word processor and basic formatting and editing tools. In order for it to run, .NET Framework needs to be installed on the hard drive.

When creating a new document, the app requires two different passwords that need to be typed every time you want to access them. It saves files in SPD format and doesn't offer support for standard file types, such as DOC, RTF or TXT. The drag-and-drop function isn't featured either. The printing settings can be configured from the menu, such as the paper size (letter, ledger, A3, A4), resolution, orientation, and custom dimensions.

You can add a few formatting features, such as bold, italic and underline, increase or decrease indent, create bullet lists, and align paragraphs. There is an option to customize the font with different types and styles, colors or sizes. Safe Pad lets you insert images with a few standard file formats, like JPG, BMP, PNG and GIF, and resize them to the desired length.

It's possible to easily copy, cut and paste content from another document, fix mistakes using the undo and redo buttons, and wrap the text to the fit the window. Unfortunately, there are no options to enter tables, symbols, date and time, or hyperlinks, nor to view the number of words and characters.

The bottom line is that Safe Pad is a useful and accessible program designed to provide a simple way of writing various documents with essential details or work-related information.
