ScreenHint

ScreenHint is a super handy tool I often use when I come across something cool or useful online. Instead of trying to remember all that info, I just grab a screenshot. It's way easier than writing everything down!

Easy Screenshot Capture

This app makes taking screenshots a breeze! With just a simple hotkey, you can capture anything from your desktop and keep it floating on top of other windows as a little reminder. It’s intuitive and totally free!

Quick Access from the Menu Bar

You can access ScreenHint right from the menu bar. If you want to make it even simpler, set up a hotkey! The recommended shortcut is ⌘⇧2, which works perfectly with the default macOS screenshot keys, so it's super easy to get used to.

Select and Capture

When you spot something important, just hit that shortcut and choose what you want to capture. The image stays on your screen as a movable, resizable memo on top of everything else. It’s all very smooth and only takes seconds to learn.

No Need for a Tutorial

Even though there’s a tutorial included, you probably won’t need it because the app is so user-friendly. You can move hints around easily and delete them by double-clicking! Just remember that once they're gone, they can't be brought back—though they’re working on that feature.

Manage Your Captures Easily

Since these hints are images, copying them to your clipboard or sending them off to an image processing app is simple. And if you need text from one of those memos? No problem! You can use OCR to pull it out.

Hovering Hints on Top

The ability to have hints hover over other apps is great! But sometimes I wish I could hide them or send them back in the background for less clutter.

Customization Options Coming Soon

You can hide borders around hints too, but unfortunately, this setting isn’t saved for new hints yet—it has to be toggled off each time if that’s how you like it. But don’t worry; both these features are in the works for future updates!

A Joy to Use!

In short, ScreenHint is nearly perfect! It shows awesome attention to detail for a free app. Aside from some minor missing features, it's fantastic and could easily fit into my daily routine.
