You might need to grab a picture of the screen in just the right second, and this can easily be accomplished through the default keyboard PrintScreen functions. However, the picture is saved to the clipboard, and it becomes a time-consuming operation to save multiple pictures. This is where Screenshot2Disk comes in handy, saving you the process of opening an editor to paste and save the image.

First of all, you might want to know the application isn’t packed inside an installer, which means it’s good to go from the moment download is done. This not only allows you to carry it with you on a thumb drive, but it also keeps the stability of the target PC intact, because registry entries are not put at risk. However, .NET Framework is a mandatory component, so you need to check whether or not it’s installed.

To be fair, the application does provide a great deal of comfort, especially since you don’t really need to run it more than one time. This is because it adds a new Explorer context menu entry, so you don’t necessarily have to rely on any of what it offers in the interface to save the picture.

Running the application isn’t the only step in order to get the new context menu entry running. You’re able to configure a few things, such as the output format, which can be either PNG, or JPG with up to three different quality levels, but none of them reaching 90%.

When configured, the context menu entry is found in nearly all Explorer instances. Choosing it pastes any image inside the clipboard inside the given folder under the selected format. The name is the exact time and date. The application window also offers an option to remove the context menu entry.

All things considered, we can state that Screenshot2Disk might not be the type of application to greatly enhance screenshot taking tasks, but it does eliminate at least one step from the conventional method. Since it relies on the clipboard, you can only save one picture at a time, but this is done in a folder of choice.
