Secret Files Pro is a handy little app for Mac OS X that helps you keep your important files safe by hiding them away from nosy people. If others can’t find your files, they’re much more likely to stay private!

Easy Access to Your Hidden Files

When you launch Secret Files Pro, it pops an icon in your status bar menu. This icon gives you quick access to the app’s main window, making it super easy to get to your important data. But if you want an extra layer of privacy, you might consider hiding that menu bar icon too! Just keep in mind that right now, you can only hide the Dock icon through Preferences.

Password Protection for Extra Security

To make sure those hidden files stay hidden, Secret Files Pro requires you to set up a pass key before accessing the main window. This way, only you can see what’s inside!

Organize Your Hidden Files Like a Pro

The main window of Secret Files Pro is split into two sections. On the left side, you can create as many groups as you'd like to keep everything organized. On the right side, you'll see a list of all your hidden files and folders. Hiding a file is as simple as dragging and dropping it into that right area.

Toggling File Visibility Made Easy

The app adds a checkbox next to each file so you can easily toggle visibility on or off. Just remember: if you want to remove a file from the list, make sure it's unhidden first; otherwise, it'll stay hidden forever!

A Basic Level of Privacy

Secret Files Pro does offer some basic privacy features since its user interface is password protected. However, it doesn’t use any fancy encryption methods for your files. The idea is simple: if people don’t know where to look, they won’t find anything!

Caution: Not Foolproof

This app provides decent privacy protection but be careful! If someone finds out how to reveal hidden files across your entire system, then those documents protected by Secret Files Pro could also be seen.
