If you wish to increase your system's performance, you have several avenues to do so. There's no shortage of tweaking tools to use, and they're generally so intuitive these days that even a beginner can pick one up and start configuring their system in such a way that performance gains can be had.
A new offering comes in the form of Shades Toolbox, which is a program that was designed to optimize Windows 10 and 11 machines to increase their performance. It does so by providing an array of tweaks that the end user can apply, while also making use of Winget to supply some quick links to a series of useful software.
If you've used tweaker, debloater, optimizer, or any such tools in the past, then this one won't be much of a departure. Before proceeding, it's best that you place the Shades Toolbox folder in your C:/ drive for a smooth operation. After that, you're free to boot up the tool and hop into the Tweaks menu.
This menu has quite a few options available, and they can range from simply removing some built-in software, such as OneDrive, Edge, and so on, to a full debloat procedure. There's also the option to apply some optimizations for different components, such as your CPU, RAM, and so forth.
You also have the option to disable some features you're not interested in. For instance, you can choose to disable SmartScreen, Telemetry, and Windows Update. There are some functions that may be of use to some individuals, such as disabling Widgets, enabling the old context menu, clearing previous Windows installations, and more.
The Download interface uses Winget to provide users with quick links to a series of software that may be relevant to them. The list is rather generalist, so it's likely that you'll find something worth getting. Selecting a program will automatically download and install it without requiring further input.
Shades Toolbox makes for a decent Windows toolbox of sorts. It provides several optimizations that users can try to apply to their systems to increase performance, and also facilitates downloading some software applications via Winget.
