ShowMyPing

Generally speaking, ping is a term often used when monitoring and diagnosing the performance of the network. Not only can it reveal whether the host or IP address is accessible, but it also measures the response and can hence, provide an overall view of the network’s performance.

ShowMyPing is a lightweight utility designed to provide you with the latter type of information. In addition to displaying latency data about your custom address, the tool can be set to provide the same information for any custom IP address as well.

The application does not require installation or configuration, so decompress and launch it. It does not come with an interface and you can interact with it via the icon displayed in the System Tray. The tool does not have options, with the exception or starting it with Windows, which is not a deal breaker considering the simple role of the program.

Similarly to any other ping tool, the application sends out four distinct pings and measures the response type. Each response is displayed along with the average in a small window in the notification area.

You will be happy to learn that the tool does not bother you with pop ups that may distract you from your current tasks, but rather displays the ping when accessed only.

The application is as simple as it looks, and, as previously mentioned, the options entail toggling between your current IP address and a custom one. In case you want to ping a custom address, simply select the option and start typing or paste the IP.
