Silex Desktop

The established capabilities and exploits of the Silex website builder web platform have driven those who seek optimization to find a way of implementing them into their desktop environment. Having the said tools and features available through a desktop client would not only increase work efficiency but also enable connectivity with third-party development apps seamlessly.

Addressing such challenges, Silex Desktop, just as its name implies, was created specifically to offer users a centralized desktop platform for implementing the web design capabilities of Silex into their desktop environments, through means of frontend control for the involved applications.

The desktop client is based on Electron, and it allows for the packaging of the required frontend applications of the Silex pipeline. Users must be aware that in order to run the desktop client, one of the main requirements is the Silex Socket Service, available for download on the developer’s page here. The used package manager is Yarn and users will be required to clone the corresponding repository and install the required dependencies before running the client.

Regular scripts and expressions are supported for use, and the main Electron library, version 13.5.2 comes bundled with the application.
