SlingPlayer Desktop lets you watch your cable or satellite TV subscription on different devices, no matter where you are. To get started, you need to connect the Sling device to your TV provider and the internet.
Once that's done, head over to the Sling website to create your account and link it with your device. After this step, anytime you log into your Sling account from any supported device, you'll have access to live TV and any shows you've recorded.
You can access your account easily through a web browser on both desktops and mobile devices. If you're using a Mac, make sure to install the SlingPlayer Desktop application. This app is what you'll need to enjoy watching TV right from your desktop.
The interface of the SlingPlayer Desktop app is user-friendly! Start by logging in with your Sling credentials. Once you're connected, you can catch up on live TV or check out recorded videos either in standard view or full screen.
This app supports most features you'd find on the Sling website. You'll be able to see all connected Sling devices and play back any available content effortlessly.
A little heads up: right now, the SlingPlayer Desktop app works only with the Slingbox M1 models. So if you have other types of Sling devices, this app won't be much help for you. But don't worry! You can still access the Sling service through some web browsers after installing a few plug-ins!
