SmartCodeComponent

SmartCodeComponent is a handy little tool that helps you insert barcodes into documents. It's super flexible because you can use it as a standalone program or add it to Windows apps that support OLE Server, like Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and WordPad.

Getting Started with SmartCodeComponent

Once you've installed it, adding SmartCodeComponent to Microsoft Word is easy! Just go to the "Insert" menu, click on "Object," and you'll find it there. When you add it, a default barcode pops up in your document. You can double-click on it to tweak its settings. And guess what? You don’t even need to open another app; you can run the tool directly from its executable file!

User-Friendly Interface

The main window of SmartCodeComponent is simple and clean, making it easy to navigate. You'll see a big version of the default barcode right away. From the ribbon bar, you can change different properties like the barcode type.

A Variety of Barcode Options

This tool gives you tons of choices for 1D barcodes! You can pick from options like EAN12, CODE128 (including CODE128A, CODE128B, and CODE128C), CODE93, UPCA, ISSN, ISBN, UPCE, UPCEXT2, UPCEXT3, CODE39ASCII, EAN8, CODE39 and MSI. There’s definitely something for everyone!

Customizing Your Barcode

You can also change things up by adding prefixes based on countries or member organizations. Plus, if you want to adjust how your barcode looks—like its size or ratio—you have that option too! You can set dimensions for width and height depending on the type of barcode you're using.

Text Customization Options

If you want your barcode text to be more readable for people, SmartCodeComponent lets you customize the font style (name and size), arrangement (style and alignment), and effects (like strikeout or underline). And when you're finished creating your masterpiece? Just save your barcode as WMF, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, or BMP images from the "File" menu!

In our testing with Windows 10 everything worked perfectly—no hiccups at all! Overall, SmartCodeComponent provides a straightforward way to add barcodes into any OLE Server-supported programs while allowing you to save them in various image formats.
