SMLoadr

SMLoadr enables you to build an offline music collection by allowing the quick downloading of songs and album covers. Designed for educational and private use only, this simple application makes use of APIs of music streaming websites to grab copies of songs and save them locally.

SMLoadr features a GUI, although it is quite rudimentary, given that you must point to the SMLoadr executable file yourself, as the GUI is not capable of detecting the executable on its own. Additional settings enable you to configure the folder where the downloaded data will be saved and set the desired audio quality. SMLoadr can save files in MP3 format at 128 or 320 kbps, or in FLAC format.

The main window also features filtering capabilities, enabling you to look for specific artists, albums, or songs. A list of suggestions is also provided, along with an option to limit the number of downloaded songs.

Once you hit the "Download" button, SMLoadr opens its console application. Here, SMLoadr prompts you to enter the credentials for your account on the streaming music website. At the moment, the Deezer platform is the only supported streaming service.

Once logged in, SMLoadr starts downloading music files, and you can see its progress in the console window. When finished, the window closes, without offering options to play songs or opening the download folder.

SMLoadr can help you download music from online streaming services but note that it is only intended for personal use and not as a means of distributing music without consent.

The application requires further work, starting with support for additional streaming services, and ending with fine details, such as allowing the users to load the songs in the default audio player directly after downloading them.
