SNEP

SNEP is a cool open-source telephony software that’s totally free and works on pretty much any platform. It’s built using PHP and is designed to be a user-friendly web interface for the powerful Asterisk PBX (Private Branch Exchange) software that many people use.

Easy Management for Everyone

This software really shines when it comes to managing users and routing. It makes handling an Asterisk PBX server super simple, even for those who aren’t tech-savvy. If you ever need help, you can hop into IRC at Freenode and check out the #snep channel for support!

Available for Debian-Based Systems

Right now, SNEP is available as standalone software for Debian-based systems like Ubuntu and Linux Mint. There’s also an installable ISO image based on Debian GNU/Linux, but keep in mind, it's mainly tailored for the Brazilian Portuguese community.

ISO Image Details

The ISO image is optimized just for 32-bit hardware. You can burn it onto a CD or even use a DVD or USB flash drive. When you boot from it, you'll have options to start the installation or dive into some advanced settings like expert installation or rescue mode.

Installation Made Simple

If you choose to use the ISO image, you'll notice it has a text-mode installer. This means you’ll get to pick your language right from the start of the installation process! You’ll also set your location, create passwords for accounts, partition your disk, select packages to install, and don’t forget about setting up the GRUB bootloader.
