As its title suggest, Some PDF to Txt Converter is a program that allows you to convert PDF documents to the TXT format (but also to HTML).
The tool comes with a plain and simple interface in which you can import PDFs by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" function is not supported. Batch processing is allowed.
In the queue you can check out the name, size, date of creation and modification, as well as owner and master password for each PDF.
Once you set the output location and format, you can proceed with the conversion process.
But you can also set the page range, begin and end page, output mode and text encoding.
On top of that, you can enable Some PDF to Txt Converter to automatically open the output directory when the job is done, convert in raw mode, preserve the text layout and insert page breaks. Settings can be reset to their default values.
The program takes up a very low amount of system resources, can guide you to a brief online help file with snapshots and quickly finishes a task. However, it seems to have some issues (with Windows 7, at least). We didn't manage to batch-convert PDFs, since multiple errors regarding text encoding popped up (the tool also crashed once).
The text layout is maintained at a good level in the output files, but not excellent. For example, non-English special characters are not converted in case of PDF-to-HTML. Nevertheless, we suggest you test Some PDF to Txt Converter for yourself to see if it matches your preferences.
