SPad

SPad is a simple-to-use and straightforward piece of kit that supports a text-to-speech tool. It can be handled even by users with little or no experience in software programs.

The installation procedure is brief and does not require special attention. When it finishes you can check out a small window with a plain layout, representing SPad's interface.

You can start writing text in the dedicated box and click the Play button to make the utility read it allowed. The voice it uses is the standard "Anna" speech module supplied by Microsoft.

You can enable speech recognition mode and set up properties, disable word wrapping mode, set up font parameters, undo your actions, as well as use the standard Cut, Copy, Paste and Select All functions. Written text can be printed or saved to a plain text document (TXT format). There are no other notable options available through this tool.

SPad uses a low-to-moderate quantity of CPU and RAM, so it shouldn't put a strain on the computer's performance. It has a good response time and works smoothly, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Too bad that the tool has not been updated for a long time. To sum it up, SPad comes bundled with the necessary and suffice features for facilitating a text-to-speech module.
