Speaking Teacher is a cool tool for anyone wanting to learn a foreign language or just improve their English vocabulary. Nowadays, there are so many online resources and apps out there, but it’s nice to have something that actually considers users with disabilities.

This program was originally made for people who want to learn English, but it doesn’t stop there! You can also find tests for other languages like German, Polish, French, and Russian. How awesome is that?

Features of Speaking Teacher

So here’s how it works: you’ll answer questions with a single word, translate terms, or even listen to words and spell them out. However, fair warning—the questions could use a little tweaking since sometimes they have multiple answers when only one is marked as correct.

User Modes

Speaking Teacher has two different modes you can switch between. You can do this either right when you launch the app or by going into the Options menu later on. If you activate the Blind accessibility mode, you won’t be using your mouse at all. The whole program runs with just your keyboard!

Voice Assistance

Plus, everything from menu names to questions gets spoken aloud thanks to a speech engine you pick yourself. This makes it easier for blind users to navigate without any hassle!

User Interface Concerns

That said, the user interface could definitely use some love. It feels pretty outdated and not super intuitive at times. Sometimes it’s slow to respond too, which can be frustrating if you're trying to practice your language skills.

A Work in Progress
