Internet connection settings differ around the world. Chances are you need to test speed to particular websites, with one such basic operation being ping. In this regard, Speed Monitor wants to help you monitor connection speed to multiple websites at a time, with a configurable send frequency, and chart builder.

One of the main advantages is you don’t have to go through a setup process to make it work, but you do need to check whether or not .NET Framework is on the computer you plan to sue it on. It can also be used directly from a USB flash drive, and even carried around with ease this way, while system registry entries remain intact during the process.

The visual design consists of a large table which gradually fills up as you add new targets, and a small set of controls. Frequency at which data packets are sent is specified in seconds, with almost real time feedback if set to 1. By default, you can use Google, which is used as a preset to help understand the process.

Info cells update based on the time frequency you specify. As such, you can easily analyze last sent package, and average for last 10, 100, and 1000. Note that for the process to start, you need to enable fetching through the dedicated button, with the possibility to stop at any moment, and clear to start over.

Adding a URL is simply done by writing it in a new cell, or pasting from clipboard. Apart from info cells, you can also bring up individual charts for each website for better view. Unfortunately, the chart doesn’t update in real time, and there’s no built-in function to export a picture, or TXT files with generated results.

All things considered, we can state that Speed Monitor is sure to come in handy for sending pings to multiple websites at a time to check your Internet connection status. Frequency is customizable, and adding websites requires little effort. It could have used options to export the graph, but it’s worth a try overall.
