While Windows 10 and 11 include some transparency features, there is no built-in option to make a particular app or selected window transparent. Luckily, you can use third-party tools for this purpose and Spooky View is one lightweight program that enables you to make any window see-through.
The setup is a quick and uneventful operation that does not require any special attention from your part. The application can be accessed from the System Tray where you can run the Open window to start adding the windows and applications desired using the two dedicated columns.
As the name suggests, the Apps tab is where you can add programs by searching for their executable. It is worth mentioning that here you can choose from the provided list and cannot add executables that are not recognized by the app. You can add any executable you want, but the app will fail to make any opacity changes. In the Windows tab, you can add classes, so you need to know what you can include here.
Adding transparency to the window is done by activating the Enable Transparency and Transparent options in the right. Afterwards, you can use the bar to select a level that works for you. If you want to pause it for a while, then you can use the option with the same name from the System Tray.
Compared to similar tools, the application seems to be lacking fine-tuning features and the only Settings available include starting the tool when the user logs in and not checking for updates.
If you are looking for something simple and user-friendly to help you make various opened windows transparent, then perhaps you can consider giving Spooky View a try.
