SPYWAREfighter

SPYWAREfighter is a feature-rich software program that aims at removing spyware agents from your computer, in order to speed it up. It addresses all types of users, especially the ones with some background in this type of tools.

The interface of the application is clean and somewhat intuitive. You can get started by performing a scanning job on the computer, which can be either full, quick or custom. During this time, you can view the total scanned items, current directory and elapsed time; threats are displayed as soon as they are detected, and automatically quarantined.

You can create a whitelist, switch to a different language for the interface, enable game mode (to stop receiving on-screen alert when you're playing video games), make the app only detect threats without sending them to the quarantine or to disinfect them before doing so.

It is possible to configure protection settings (e.g. deactivate the real-time scanner or automatic updates), schedule a recurring task, create a list of file types to look for, as well as log all details to file and get an overview of the spyware activity, among others.

SPYWAREfighter runs on a very low quantity of CPU and system memory, so it shouldn't put a strain on the computer's overall performance. It has a good response time and finishes a scanning job rapidly, depending on the size of your hard drive and on the settings you have made. No error dialogs have been shown throughout our tests and SPYWAREfighter did not hang or crash.
