SqueezeFile is a handy little tool for those of us who struggle with sending large image files to friends or coworkers. You know how it goes—email services can be super picky about attachment sizes, right? Well, that’s where SqueezeFile comes in! It’s an easy-to-use app for OS X that helps shrink your files without throwing you into a complicated process.

How to Use SqueezeFile

So, here's the scoop: SqueezeFile should let you send files straight from your Finder menu, but it seems that feature isn’t working at the moment. No worries! You can still drag and drop your files right onto the app's icon or even its Dock icon. Simple as pie!

Customizing Your Preferences

Once you're in the app, you’ll find a Preferences window where you can set up default sizes for your processed images. You have options like Tiny (320px), Small (640px), Medium (1024px), Large (1600px), or Full size. Plus, you can choose where to save the resized images—either in the same folder as the original or on your desktop.

Supported File Types

SqueezeFile works with various file types including Microsoft Office documents like PPTX, DOCX, XLSX, and popular image formats such as PNG, JPEG, BMP, and TIFF. During our tests, we found that JPG, PNG, and TIFF files got their sizes reduced quite a bit! However, BMP files and some Office documents didn't get optimized.
