What is SRecord FOR LINUX?


SRecord


SRecord is a cool set of tools that makes it easy to handle EPROM load files. This software supports a bunch of different file formats like Motorola S-Record, Intel hex, Tektronix hex, and binary for both input and output. You can use SRecord to do things like crop, fill, split, join, and more! And guess what? All these filters work with all the file formats.



Supported File Formats


SRecord understands many file formats. Here’s a quick list:




  • Ascii-Hex: This format works for both reading and writing.

  • ASM: You can create DB statements for embedding data in assembler programs.

  • Atmel Generic: This format is used by the Atmel AVR assembler.

  • BASIC: Generate DATA statements for BASIC programs.

  • Binary: Read and write binary files easily.

  • C Array: Create C array definitions for other programs.

  • COSMAC: Works with the RCA Cosmac Elf format.

  • DEC Binary: Can read and write DEC Binary (XXDP) files.

  • ELECTOR Monitor (EMON52): Supported for reading and writing too!

  • Fairchild Fairbug:

  • LCSI Logic Fast Load:

  • Formatted Binary (XXDP):

  • Four Packed Code (FPC):

  • Intel Hexadecimal:

    • Intel Absolute Object Module Format (AOMF): Understands both reading & writing.

    • Intel hexadecimal 16 format (INHX16)

    • MOS Technology hexadecimal format

    • Motorola S-Record: Also known as Exorciser or Exormax.

    • Needham Electronics ASCII format

    • Ohio Scientific hexadecimal format

    • Signetics format





Spectrum: Supported for reading & writing.


SPASM: Used by various PIC programmers.


Tektronix Extended: Both reading & writing supported.

Texas Instruments Tagged: Also known as TI-Tagged.
