Built out of a need like most small and useful applications out there, sSpeedtest provides a front-end for the popular speedtest.net service, making it easy for you to run speed tests to various servers.

Powered by the speedtest,net console tool, this application can offer hints to the possible causes of a slow network connection. In other words, it can help you run a network diagnostic to have a report sent to your Internet Service Provider when having problems with the Internet connection.

The application is easily installed and, once the EULA is accepted, it allows you to view the main window. It features a simplistic GUI containing two panels, one for detecting the name of the nearest speedtest.net servers and the other for analyzing timestamps, locations, latency and other such parameters that come as a result of running the speed test.

Adding new servers to the list is possible and editing current entries can be done with a few clicks. sSpeedtest reveals the ID of the server, along with its name and its location.

To start a new test, all you have to do is hit a button. sSpeedtest analyzes all the connections to all the servers and, aside from the timestamp, name, ID and the current location, it also determines and reveals additional parameters that you, as a network administrator, might be interested in.

The latency shows the connection time, while the jitter measures the vaiability in ping. The percentage of lost packets, the average download and upload speeds, the number of downloaded and uploaded bytes are some of the indicators you will find in sSpeedtest.

Aside from the near speedtest.net servers it detects, it allows you to create a list of servers and run speed tests on all of them. In other words, it is a GUI-based edition of the speedtest.net console app.
