Connecting to the Internet doesn’t keep you invisible, on the contrary, you’re probably more exposed to danger than taking a walk down the street. Your computer address can easily be identified, but it’s possible to connect through multiple servers in an attempt to hide your IP, and one way to do this is with SSTap.

Setup is over before you realize and the application is brought up right afterwards. Features are stored in a modern interface with an intuitive layout, making it easy for individuals of all levels of experience to get the hang of things. Connection can be instantly established, but you first need to take the time to set up a server.

Connection settings are available in a new window. You can choose the proxy server type, which can be SOCKS 5, SOCKS 4/4a, Shadowsocks, or HTTP. You can add proxy from a link, with support for SS links. The IP address also needs to be provided, as well as the necessary connection credentials.

Multiple servers can be added to the list, and you select the one of interest from a drop-down menu in the main window. Connection mode can either be global wide, or skipping all China IP addresses.

Some general settings can be managed through a dedicated window. You can choose the local connection mode, TAP interface, preselected DNS, as well as preferred and alternate DNS addresses. Additional route management lets you configure custom IP addresses with action to direct or proxify.

The connection can be tested out before activating it. When not used for management, the application window can be set to the tray area. It doesn’t run with Windows by default, but you can bypass this by adding a shortcut in the Startup folder.

Taking everything into consideration, we can state that SSTap is a reliable application you can use to secure your connections over the web. Multiple proxy connections can be configured and saved, with support for different protocols, making it worth your while overall.
