The second installment in the Starcraft franchise, Starcraft II retains the same military style gameplay and offers you the possibility to develop your own strategy against different types of enemies.

The Starcraft II base game is featuring the Wings of Liberty subtitle, but keep in mind that it also has 2 expansion packs: Heart of Swarm and Legacy of the Void. Each episode is focused on a different species: Terrans, Zerg or Protoss.

The Terrans are humans that have been exiled from Earth, while the Zerg is a super species that assimilates other life forms, and the Protoss have extensive mental powers. Your character is an insurgent Terran that fights to overthrow the autocratic Terran Dominion in the Koprulu sector.

Your strategy revolves around gathering the pieces of a powerful artifact that should help you win the fight. During your journey, you get to interact with various characters while completing all sorts of missions.

Starcraft II allows you to move your troops around the battlefield and apply various strategies in order to end up victorious. Of course, each race has its own strengths and weaknesses, so you must learn how to take advantage of them and make the most out of your resources.

The game also allows you to access the Blizzard Entertainment online gaming service, Battle.net . While you are online, you can take advantage of the automated ranked matches system and play against real people in order to gain experience and improve your character’s rank.

At the same time, you can also create custom games and have fun in a less competitive environment. Last but not least, the Starcraft II level editor can be used to quickly create personalized maps or mods.

Starcraft II is proposing an extraordinary sci-fi adventure and allows you to develop your military strategical thinking while fighting with or against different species: the Terran, the Zerg or the Protoss.
