If we are to take a peek at the browser usage statistics of the last few years or so, one thing is evident: Chrome is leading the pack, and it is here to stay. Google Chrome is the most popular browser on the planet, so if there are any issues with it, they usually get patched out without delay.
One problem that some users have been experiencing is related to Chrome's process: sometimes, even after you close it, the browser still manages to run in the background. To help with that, Stop Chrome is a simple utility that can help you ascertain when Chrome is running in the background, allowing you to kill the respective process.
Considering how complex browsers have become, it's not uncommon to see small issues like these prop up. For those with systems on the lower-end side, such problems can put a dent in their machine's performance. To that end, this lightweight application delivers by giving users a hand in spotting when Chrome is, and isn't running.
Simply put, the little thing sits in your tray, and informs you when Chrome has processes running. How it does it, is through a color change: the tray icon changes color from Green to Red when it spots a Chrome process running. Feel free to ignore that while you're browsing, though.
In the event that you're not using the browser, and the tray icon's color is red, you can elect to Stop Chrome through the program. To do so, right-click the tray icon, and click the option. The program will then take care of the rest.
For what it is, Stop Chrome does the job well: it's a simple tool to inform you of rogue Chrome processes, and it does so in an intuitive, non-intrusive manner.
