The application allows users to build Earth maps of various sizes without compromising on detail accuracy within certain limits. It also provides features such as drawing meridians, parallels, equator, tropics, Arctic circles, and more with simple mouse clicks or keyboard shortcuts. The application seamlessly switches between clock and map states with intuitive commands '!' or 'Space'.

For visual clarity, Sunclock for Linux offers the option of displaying the Sun and Moon positions on the map, making it easier to track celestial movements. Users can also enable monochrome mode with the -colorlevel option for monochrome displays.
