Sunclock FOR LINUX
Description
Sunclock is a sophisticated clock for the X Window system. It displays a map of the Earth and shows which portion is illuminated by the sun. The software is based on an earlier version by John Mackin, itself derived from the Suntools program by John Walker. Many possibilities of the original astronomy routines are now exploited.
Key Features
- Displays a map of the Earth with sunlit areas
- Features a "clock window" and a "map window" with different functionalities
- Customizable list of cities with information on legal time, coordinates, and solar time
- Progress feature to accelerate the evolution of time
- Vector map of the Earth capable of building maps of arbitrary sizes
Additional Functionality
The Sunclock package includes a vector map of the Earth (loosely derived from the xearth package by Kirk Lauritz Johnson), which can build maps of arbitrary sizes without losing accuracy. Other functionalities include:
Five Different Modes
