Your home computer is a personal space, but to some extent so is the work computer. Windows personalize options can be used to tweak visuals to make the desktop suit your style, with a large variety of third-party alternatives available as well. For instance, SWForm brings a cool clock on your desktop, a calendar, and small text pad to take notes, and save your ideas.

The application comes in a lightweight package, only keeping you busy for a little while during installation. However, your computer must be equipped with .NET Framework for everything to function as expected, but there’s a high chance it’s already there, since modern Windows iterations come with in the default feature set.

It is built similar to gadgets and widgets you’re probably familiar with, but it does not integrate in your system the same way. On launch, a cool clock is brought on your desktop, with the possibility to move it around as you see fit. Hovering the mouse over it unveils several related options, which can also be accessed from the tray menu.

Fortunately, the default clock is not the only available design, with a decent variety of stylish analog, or digital clocks to choose from. More customization options can be used to adjust transparency level, change the background color, stay on top of every other window, enable click through, and whether or not to have it launched with Windows.

A couple of more tools come in handy besides the clock. Whenever needed, you can bring up a calendar at the press of a button. There’s a text pad to write down ideas, with a built-in calculator which reveals the result of an expression inside the text field. Sadly, you can’t set reminders on the calendar, while the notes tool does not export text besides the copy operation.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that SWForm is a cool desktop enhancement if you’re tired of the default tray clock. It’s fitted with a slim calendar to make plans, as well as a small text editor to write down any ideas, or take notes when performing research or working on your projects.
