Swift Typist
Swift Typist is a fun typing game where you can challenge people from all over the globe! After each game, it gives you feedback on your typing speed, and you can check out your stats along with the leaderboard in neat separate panels.
How to Play Swift Typist
When you kick off a new game session, Swift Typist picks a random piece of text for you to type. Your goal? Type each word as fast and accurately as possible! Remember, punctuation counts too. If you're not following the text exactly, you won't finish the session.
Create Your Own Challenges
If you're feeling creative and want to practice with something different, Swift Typist lets you submit your own text suggestions. Just keep it under 280 characters, avoid special characters, and make sure there are no mistakes or bad language!
Your Performance Dashboard
The main window of Swift Typist shows your highest typing speed (characters per minute) and how many characters you've typed so far. Plus, it automatically creates a graph that tracks how you're doing over time.
Leaderboards and Competition
The Swift Typist Leaderboard panel is super cool! You can see your current score and how it stacks up against other players from around the world thanks to integration with OS X Game Center.
A Fun Twist with Car Animation
This game even has a little car animation that tracks your progress through the text. You can choose from 11 fun car designs right in the game's main panel!
The Perfect Mix of Practice and Competition
Swift Typist gives you a great space to practice your typing skills while adding some friendly competition into the mix. You get to compare your characters per minute rate with players worldwide!
A Few Downsides to Consider
Caution: sometimes the same text pieces pop up quite often, which might get a bit repetitive. Plus, there’s a slight delay before the typing area becomes available during gameplay. These little things could affect your accuracy score.
