Your gateway to the information superhighway is a web browser. Just so you get an initial experience, Windows already comes with the right means to send you on the web. However, there are applications out there packed with way more features, which is also the case with Teennet.

Needless to say that you need to make sure your Internet connection is perfectly up and running before taking the application for a spin, otherwise it's of no use. When up, you're taken by default on the popular Google search engine to try out your luck. Accommodation is the least of your worries, with the upper toolbar fitted with all it needs, such as the URL field, navigation buttons, and a built-in search function.

The application lets you set the home page to a custom URL, or the one you're currently on. A corresponding toolbar button lets you access the homepage with a single mouse click. You can also leave it blank in case you don't want to be distracted when reaching the web.

Accessing the search menu slides a side in panel fitted with a few fields. Each initiates a search process of the given query on services like Google, Yahoo, or Bing. Sadly, you need to access the side panel each time you want to look up words of interest, with no option to place and configure a dedicated field on your toolbar. It's either that, or manually navigating to a search engine online.

An additional tool is found and brings up a new window that lets you access a handful of preset web pages. These are dedicated to image editing, but not all of them still exist, and you can't remove or edit any of the entries.

What's more, you constantly have the impression that a different web page is opened in a new tab, with the current one having its name placed in a small area, resembling a tab. However, tabs are not supported, but the application does let you open a new window for more possibilities.

System resources are put under some degree of pressure, even with a single running page, let alone bringing up more instances. Moreover, speed leaves a lot to be desired, which doesn't even make up for the amount of resources used. One last thing, you need to make sure your computer's equipped with .NET Framework for the application to run.

You end up on the World Wide Web on a daily basis and it's a shame for your experience to be affected by poor implementation of features, just like it's the case with Teennet. Sure, it manages to take you to favorite pages, even on multiple ones in different windows, but it's all at the cost of too many resources, while speed is not to its advantage.
