Text Crypter

There are plenty of encryption tools out there for users who want to keep their communications secure, but some may be looking for something a bit more rudimentary that is also fun to play around with.

Text Crypter is a pretty simple and fully portable application that can modify any text you type on the fly, using a number of interesting effects. It is a straightforward utility that doesn’t offer a lot of features, but you can use it to have some fun with your friends.

After launching the application, you will have a number of text effects to choose from, enabling you to place characters in bubbles or squares, flip them vertically or horizontally, increase the distance between them and more. You can even select the random mode and have the app select a different one for each character.

Once the program has been activated, anything you type will be converted automatically. Moreover, it is also possible to process text that has already been copied to the clipboard.

While this is clearly not an encryption tool, it can still prove to be useful. However, we noticed that none of the text styles support capitalization, even those that should definitely allow it.

Also, there is no option to send the application to the system tray, although it is worth noting that it is possible to keep it on top of all other windows, which is handy if you frequently need to switch between text styles.

Overall, Text Crypter is a fairly simple piece of software that can alter the appearance of text while you are typing. It is very easy to deploy, as it requires no installation, and it can be quite fun, but it could use a couple of improvements.
