the Stained FOR MAC

the Stained is an interesting puzzle platformer game with a straightforward gameplay and twenty complicated stages that will put your logical thinking to the test.

Despite its straightforward gameplay, the Stained’s principle is quite interesting and very philosophical. Basically, it's all about perspective as you view the simple 2D pixel-art world from three perspectives represented by three colors.

Each time you take a color pill, certain world elements will either be hidden of revealed, and, as with all platformer games, you have to find your way through increasingly complicated puzzles without being killed.

The controls are quite straightforward, as you use the arrow keys on your Mac’s keyboard to control your little fellow’s movements, the background music is enchanting and relaxing, and the graphics are befitting for the indie game trend.

The physics feel quite natural and don’t over-exaggerate the character’s movements that are both predictable and fast, exactly how you want them in a game of this sorts.

It may not sound like much, but it’s all about perspective; it depends on what game you compare it with. Indeed, we wouldn’t go as far as saying that this is a complex game, but we have to admit, some of the puzzles from its twenty stages are quite tricky and require a fair amount of coordination and logics, so rest assured that boredom is not something found on this game’s agenda.

To conclude, with its quirky gameplay, interesting “Matrix-like” approach to physics and perception, the Stained will test your logical thinking but it won’t offer you the best gaming experience of your life. Nonetheless, there is something so relaxing and satisfying about playing “the Stained”, so that  chances are you will be pinned to your seat at least for short periods of time.
