How to Compile the Package

The simplest way to get this package up and running is pretty straightforward:

1. First, navigate to the directory where your package's source code is. You can do this by typing `cd` in your terminal.


2. Next, type `./configure` to set things up for your system. If you happen to be using `csh` on an older System V version, just type `sh ./configure` instead. This helps avoid any hiccups with `csh` trying to run it itself.


3. This step might take a bit of time. While it runs, you'll see messages pop up showing which features are being checked.


4. Once that's done, go ahead and compile the package by typing `make`.


5. If you want to check if everything is working correctly, you can type `make check`, but that’s optional!


6. Finally, type `make install` to install all the programs along with any data files and documentation.

Cleaning Up After Installation

If you want to tidy up after installation, simply type `make clean`. This will remove program binaries and object files from your source code directory.

If you're planning on compiling for a different kind of computer later on, use `make distclean`. There’s also a `make maintainer-clean`, but that’s mainly for developers. If you use it, be ready for some extra setup!
