Description
ThunderTracker
ThunderTracker is a super handy tool for tracking pixel art, which is pretty popular in indie games. If you’re creating animated sprites, this app is definitely for you! It’s designed to help you track specific points so you can easily attach weapons, clothing, or any items to your sprite.
Getting Started with ThunderTracker
To kick things off, you’ll need an animation strip. Just upload that as a new project and fill in the frame values. You’ll also need to set your X and Y origin points and add the frames per second (FPS). Once that’s done, your sprite will show up right away!
Tracking Points Made Easy
Now for tracking! You use a square-shaped selector. As you flip through frames, point the selector at the pixel you want to track. To make it quicker, just right-click on the pixel to select it. This saves some time since dragging and dropping can be a bit slow with the selector moving down at the bottom of the UI.
Saving Your Work
After you've added items to your sprite, don’t forget to save everything as a TXT file. This array of values helps implement where new items should go and their angle in your project.
The Benefits of Using ThunderTracker
ThunderTracker is perfect for game developers who want their pixel art sprites to look more dynamic and engaging. If you need more help getting started, there’s a tutorial available! But hey, don’t hesitate to do some Googling if you run into questions!
