Timeow is an awesome open-source menu bar app that helps you track how much time you spend on your Mac. We all know it can be tricky to figure out how long we’ve really been working, especially with all those breaks we take to recharge. But with Timeow, you can get a clear picture of your daily computer use without much hassle.
Once you install Timeow and fire it up, it starts keeping tabs on your activity. It tracks whenever you’re using the keyboard or mouse as active time. If there’s no action for a set time (you can choose between one and ten minutes), the app counts that as a break. So, it’s like having a personal assistant who notes when you're busy or taking a breather!
At the end of each day, you can check out how many active periods were recorded. It’ll show you exactly when each session started and ended, plus how long they lasted. Breaks are tracked too and are shown in their own little section.
Timeow is super handy as a daily tracker but also keeps logs for up to four weeks! That means even if your week gets busy, you can look back at previous days to see where your time went. Just keep in mind that if you've taken lots of short breaks, the data might get a little messy after just one day since there aren't any fancy graphs or stats to help sort through it.
This app shines as a simple activity tracker! Plus, being free and open-source is always a win in my book! However, I think it could use some improvements in how it presents data visually. Some cool stats would make understanding your daily Mac usage way easier.
If you're looking to download Timeow, it's definitely worth checking out!
