Torrents are a common solution today for any file-sharing problems. They allow quick transfers during any time of the day or night, in almost complete anonymity.

Supporting these types of transfers is an entire architecture of servers, called BitTorrent trackers, whose job it is to connect the peers.

TorrentControl is a simple and practical application designed to allow users to alter the data sent to BitTorrent trackers by popular clients.

The program is compatible with most common torrent clients, including μTorrent. Once installed, the lightweight application resides in the tray area and automatically creates rules for all the detected trackers when downloading starts.

Users also have the possibility to create new rules manually, as well as edit or discard any existing items.

A notable feature is the ability to import and export rules from and to XML files, thus allowing users to share their customized tracker rules with other computers.

All the operations performed are recorded in a detailed activity log that is automatically saved at user-defined time intervals.

Several settings can be adjusted to improve the overall performance of the application, such as the listening port used for any operations, or the removal of torrent rules after a certain number of days of inactivity.

The tracker timeout value can be adjusted and the activity log saving interval can also be modified.

A simple GUI allows users to swiftly perform all the needed operations and navigation is performed via the several menu items; any issues that may arise can be handled by employing the built-in help file.
