TTC Term Suite

TTC Term Suite is a cool open-source app that's based on UIMA. It came from the European project called TTC Terminology Extraction, Comparable Corpora, and Translation Tools. Pretty neat, right?

What's the Goal?

The main goal of this project is to help out with machine translation, computer-assisted translation, and managing multilingual content. How do they do this? By automatically creating bilingual terminologies from comparable corpora in five different European languages: English, French, German, Spanish, and Latvian (which is a lesser-known language). Plus, it also works with Chinese and Russian!

What Powers TTC Term Suite?

So what makes TTC Term Suite tick? It's powered by:

• The Java programming language and its runtime environment.


• The Apache UIMA framework.


• A part-of-speech tagger and lemmatizer called TreeTagger.


• The Java library tt4j that lets you embed TreeTagger in Java.
