Twitch Leecher takes a different approach, downloading videos in thousands of small parts and fully using the available bandwidth. It also offers some other useful features, and it is remarkably intuitive.

First and foremost, you need to find the VODs you wish to download, and Twitch Leecher offers several methods of doing this. You can enter the channel name and view all available broadcasts, highlights or uploads, as well as provide video URLs or IDs directly.

Downloading even very large videos is surprisingly quick, as the application is only limited by your Internet connection. However, it is not possible to set a speed limit. Of course, the chunks also need to be merged after they are downloaded, which is done with the help of FFmpeg.

Once you have selected the desired video quality and defined the output location, you also have the option of extracting only a certain portion of the VOD by setting the start and end times.

When everything is done, the job is added to the download queue, and you can keep adding more videos which will be processed later. Unfortunately, though, the operation cannot be paused.

There is almost nothing bad to be said about the application’s GUI, as it has a clear-cut layout, looks quite stylish and is very novice-friendly. Still, it would have been great if it were possible to send the application to the system tray once a download has started.

Overall, Twitch Leecher is an excellent choice for anyone looking to download Twitch VODs, as it can save them remarkably quickly and offers quite a few other helpful features. It could use some small improvements, but this is a very impressive application.
