Description

Unifier

Unifier is a handy tool that lets you change the encoding format of your text files all at once. It supports various file types like TXT, HTML, ASP, and PHP, making it pretty versatile!

Easy Setup and Interface

When you first set up Unifier, it’s a breeze. You’ll find yourself welcomed by a simple interface that has everything laid out nicely. However, if you’re not super tech-savvy, the main configuration panel might look a bit tricky at first.

Testing with Dummy Files

As soon as you start up the program, it suggests testing it with dummy files to get the hang of how things work. One cool feature is that Unifier can either back up your original files before making changes or create new ones while leaving the originals safe and sound.

Add Files Easily

You can easily add multiple files to your task list by simply dragging and dropping them in. Plus, there’s a search function that helps you find specific files from any location you want. You can even include or exclude certain file types based on their extensions and keep your folder structure intact when creating new files.

Selecting Encoding Modes

One important thing to note is that you'll need to choose the source encoding mode for your files since Unifier doesn’t automatically detect it. There are plenty of options available like Western (Windows or DOS charset), Macintosh Roman, or ISO 8859-1 Latin I. For output encoding modes, though, you're limited to Unicode UTF-8, UTF-16, or Big Endian UTF-16.

HTML File Features

If you're working with HTML files (and using UTF-8), Unifier can add UTF-8 charset meta tags for you! It can also convert HTML character entities into raw Unicode characters and even add byte-order marks if needed. Plus, you can choose to overwrite after backing up original files and set custom prefixes for converted file names.

Unicode Encoding Tool

The tool also has a Unicode encoding and decoding feature that works nicely with HTML character entities and Java Unicode notations. And don’t worry; all your settings can be saved for later use!

A Handy Application Overall

In summary, Unifier is a really useful app for changing the encoding method of text documents without hogging your CPU or RAM – we found its usage was minimal during tests! Just a heads-up: it's no longer being updated.
