Unit Converter Portable

This is the portable edition of Unit Converter, a free, open-source and straightforward piece of software that lets users easily convert numerical values from one measurement unit to another.

It does not have complicated features or configuration parameters, so it can be handled with ease by all types of users, even the ones with little or no experience in computer software.

Since there is no installation involved, you can drop the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run.

There is also the possibility to save Unit Converter to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort and no previous installers.

An important aspect to take into account is that the program does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, leaving no traces behind after its removal.

The UI is based on a single window split into multiple tabs corresponding to each measurement unit: time, circular measure, metric prefixes, number names, power, length, mass/weight, speed/velocity, volume, energy/work, area, pressure, and temperature.

For example, you can transform micrometers into inches by simply inputting a numerical value in the dedicated box and establishing the number of significant figures. Calculations are immediately carried out and you can copy the results to the Clipboard.

You can add a new unit to the list (as long as it is supported by the tool), delete existing ones, as well as restore units to default. As far as program configuration is concerned, you can list units alphabetically or by magnitude (optionally enable reverse mode), as well as choose the default significant figures and total units on one screen.

Unit Converter does not put a strain on computer performance, as it runs on low CPU and RAM. It immediately performs calculations and works well, without causing Windows to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.

Unit Converter offers a simple solution to converting one measurement unit to another, and it can be handled by anyone.
