UPXcmd Portable

Designed as a portable edition of UPXcmd, UPXcmd Portable is a lightweight application you can use to compress various types of files, namely DLL, EXE, SCR, AX, ACM, COM, SYS, OCX, BPL, DPL, SFX, APL and API. It includes several advanced settings that can be configured by experienced users.

Since the program's not wrapped in a portable package, you can drop the downloaded files anywhere on the computer or copy them to a removable storage unit, in order to seamlessly run it on any machine with as little effort as possible. It doesn't create files on the disk without your permission or add new entries to the system registry.

When it comes to the interface, UPXcmd Portable adopts a normal window with a neatly structured layout, where you can indicate a folder containing one or more files you want to compress, as well as exclude any file types from the job. All of them are included by default.

It's possible to pick the compression level from 1 (fastest with lower ratio) to 9 (slower with better ratio), opt for best, brute or ultra brute mode, extract files already compressed with UPX, open the destination directory or schedule the PC to shut down on task completion, disable window transparency, or add command-line parameters to enhance functionality.

You can disable LZMA compression, strip overlays, force compression if necessary, compress the export section, as well as skip icon and resource compression.

Compression and decompression jobs were carried out fast in our tests, during which the program remained light on system resources usage, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly.
