USB SPY

Synchronizing and transferring data from external devices connected to the PC is a simple task, sometimes a bit time consuming if there are many items that have to be copied manually. Nonetheless, automating such activities can be easily achieved when using a dedicated application like USB SPY.

This software solution is designed to perform several jobs, but the main purpose is to have all data from a USB drive copied locally as soon as the device is connected, without requiring any user intervention. The only requirement is that USB SPY is running when the target device is plugged in.

The interface of this utility is quite simple and very easy to work with, which makes it suitable even for less experienced users. By default, the automatic data transfer is active, but you can change that if necessary, by checking the 'Stop Auto-Save' option.

When the operation is set to occur only manually, you have the possibility to view and select the files and folders to be copied. Moreover, the connected device can be formatted, if necessary, with only a couple of clicks.

In order to customize the running settings of USB SPY you have to access the 'Options' area and choose how the application works. Thus, you can have it start with the operating system and run hidden to avoid detection. There is an option to disable Task Manager to avoid being stopped by the user currently logged on.

The output destination for the copied files can be set to a local directory, or a network folder and it is also possible to give that folder special attributes like 'Hidden' or 'Hidden & System' to make it more difficult to access.

All things considered, USB SPY does it's job very well and can prove a nice asset for those who need to quickly transfer data from portable devices onto their computers.
