VCatcher

VCatcher is a software application whose purpose is to help you download videos from online hosting platforms for offline viewing, record the activity of your screen, and convert audio and video files to various formats.

The utility is able to grab videos from various online websites, such as YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Metacafe, Blip, Facebook, and Instagram. You only need to input the URL and the program takes care of the rest. You can watch the downloaded clips directly in the main window, thanks to the integrated video player. VCatcher supports high-resolution videos, allowing you to download 4K and 8K clips from any website.

VCatcher helps you record your screen activity with or without sound. You may manually select the user-defined region of your desktop that you want to capture, set a timer for automatically stopping the recording, and tweak several video recording settings (e.g. frame rate, disk buffering).

The built-in audio sniffer is able to save any songs that are streamed via your audio devices. The audio recordings can be exported to MP3 or WAV file formats.

VCatcher offers you the possibility to convert the downloaded videos, recorded audio and video files, and custom songs and clips from your computer to various file formats. If you don't know which format to choose, you can select one of the presets designed for specific devices.

The program comes with support for ready-to-use conversion profiles for Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod and TV, Samsung tablets and phones, Sony devices, Xbox 360, as well as Android and other mobile devices.

The application lets you cut fragments from files, rename items, get detailed information about each item (e.g. duration, codec, size, frame rate, pixel format, bitrate), pick the folder where the files are exported, and burn DVDs.

Several configuration tweaks enable you to automatically search for music in your HTTP Internet traffic and extract music from the cache of your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Yandex Browser, Opera, IE), open the output folder at the end of the conversion process, and enable the drag-and-drop support for importing files.
