You can select a file from the hard drive via the file browser, or submit a URL for analysis. VirusTotal Uploader opens a webpage in the default web browser, where you can check out the results of antivirus systems, along with their update definitions.

VirusTotal Uploader supports Comodo, Emsisoft, Avast, AVG, ESET-NOD32, Ikarus, Panda, Symantec, TheHacker, TotalDefense, TrendMicro and many more.

You can find out the relationships concerning compressed bundles and PE resource-wise parents, additional details, comments and votes from users, together with behavioral information (e.g. file system activity, runtime DLLs), the SHA256 signature, detection ratio and analysis date.

From the Options screen you can make VirusTotal Uploader download files to the temporary folder and to remove them later, to a selected directory, or to not store these items on the disk.
