Windows Vista Language Interface Pack

The Windows Vista Language Interface Pack (LIP) is designed for English versions of Windows Vista. It works with Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, and Enterprise. If you're using Windows Vista Starter, many of the LIP languages are also available for you!

What Does the LIP Do?

This LIP gives you a partially translated version of the most commonly used parts of Windows. Once you've installed it, you'll see that parts of wizards, dialog boxes, menus, Help topics, and more will show up in the language you've chosen. Anything that isn’t translated will still be in English. Plus, you can install more than one LIP on your computer! This means each user can set their own preferred language for the user interface.

LIP Requirements

You’ll need to meet these requirements:

• Your user interface must be in English.


• You’ll need about 2.63 MB of free space to download.


• A total of 15 MB of free space is needed for installation.


• This only works on 32-bit versions of Windows Vista; it can’t be used on older versions or 64-bit versions.
